The purpose of the p16 project is to inspire myself and others to live a life that focuses on nurturing and cultivating their unique gifts. All to often, the practicality of life hinders us from pursuing our passions. We neglect our hopes and dreams and they are swiftly pushed aside and dismissed. It is my belief that this epidemic of functional neglect is depriving society of what it needs most. People who are not just existing, but living. The P16 project will provide the inspiration and I will count on you to discover what gift it is you are withholding from the world. Only you have it and the world needs it.
I will be candid and say that I can only write what I know. And what I know has been shaped by a number of people and experiences. I am an African-American woman which no doubt has a major influence on what I do and say. I am a Christian and will share my perspective with you that is heavily influenced by Biblical principles. Lastly, I am a person. I have strengths, weaknesses, and am diverse in my feelings, opinions, and tastes. It is the latter that I wish to draw upon for us to find common ground.
The name P16 is actually derived from one of my most favorite scriptures in the Bible. Phillipians 1:6 reads: “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (New American Standard Bible).
In other words, you were put on this earth to do good works. To accomplish great things. Now, we have to discover your purpose and move you in the direction to live it out. And we will do so knowing that with each day you will move toward that purpose. This I can say with the utmost confidence, but you have to work at it.
P16 is your life….HATCHED!
